Carol Kurth, FAIA, has been selected as an “Inspired Design Winner” in the Baldwin Hardware “70 Years Bold” Commemorative Knob Competition. The Baldwin Hardware selection committee chose Ms. Kurth’s concept “Threads of Design” based on its beautiful detailing and natural connection to the company’s 70th Anniversary. There were more than 100 entries to the national competition. The honor was announced at the Baldwin “70 Years Bold” Kickoff Party on January 19, 2015, at the Mandarin Suites in Las Vegas, NV.

Ms. Kurth’s concept “Threads of Design” channels the inspiration that flows through 70 years of Baldwin Hardware and encompasses the threads of design from one decade to the next. Seven notches represent each decade of Baldwin Hardware’s commitment design. The concept also includes thread-like detailing speaking to the company’s legacy of fusing innovative fabrication techniques with modern design. Ms. Kurth envisions a complete line of threaded hardware, from oversized accent pulls to door knockers and cabinet knobs, creates and integrated design aesthetic.
